Sesshu Foster taught composition and literature in East L.A. for 35 years, and at the University of Iowa, Occidental College, Pomona College, the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics, and the University of California, Santa Cruz. His work is published in The Oxford Anthology of Modern American Poetry, State of the Union: 50 Political Poems, and many other anthologies; his books include City of the Future, poetry, and Atomik Aztex, a novel. A celebrated writer, his literary awards are numerous: the American Book Award, the Asian American Literary Award in Poetry, the Believer Book Award, and more. He is based in Alhambra, CA.

Arturo Ernesto Romo was born in Los Angeles in 1980. An artist, high school arts educator and political thinker, Romo’s artmaking practice challenges and stands apart from the highly individualistic and market based structures of the traditional art world. His work is mostly done in collaboration with dear artist colleagues, family, fellow community members and students. Romo practices a flexible form of artmaking that listens, articulates, peeks through and loops back into relation with place. He is based in Los Angeles, CA.

Reading(s) will be streamed via the Creative Writing Program's YouTube Channel.
