Annie McClanahan is an Assistant Professor of English at University of California, Irvine. Her book Dead Pledges: Debt, Crisis, and 21st Century Culture was published by Stanford University Press in 2016. She has also published essays in theory & event, Representations, Post-45, The Journal of Cultural Economics, The Journal of American Studies, South Atlantic Quarterly, and others. She is currently at work on a second book project on the cultural and social history of microeconomics.
