The costurero (sewing circle) Mujeres Haciendo Memoria will host a hybrid live-streamed workshop and exhibition in which victims of the armed conflict in Colombia will give testimony of their life stories and the building of memory through textile work. The costurero will join through Zoom for the event, which will be displayed in-person at CalArts, with the option of more people to join online. Textiles made by the sewing circle will be displayed in-person and online. Then, the sewing circle will lead attendees into creating their own tale through patchwork, for which materials will be provided to the in-person students.
